Just a quick recap of today's appointment...
...Nothing too exciting...Lots of paperwork & family history questions for Chris & I. They did some blood tests for the quad screening, etc. & answered our questions. So far, everything looks great, her only concern was the amount of stress in my life with my grandpa's funeral & all the other BS going on. I'm officially 16 weeks & 3 days and the our due date is October 5th. We're super~excited for next week's appointment...they're going to do an ultrasound & hopefully we'll find out if it's a boy or a girl.
I guess this would be an appropriate time to brag about how awesome Chris is...Obviously, this wasn't a planned pregnancy & I'm sure we're both scared about making everything as perfect as it can be. He already has enough on his plate & has been there every step of the way, willing to drop everything to be there for me, going to get me ice cream at 2 in the morning, & changing his schedule around to be at every doctor's appointment ~ I couldn't ask for a better daddy!! I love you babe (even though I don't know how I feel about a homemade crib yet)!!
Okie dokie, there's the scoop & I'll have lots more to add after next week's appointment!!

I need to focus more on the game!  I was multi-tasking with a live show at the start of the Poker World free roll.  Only a few hands in I had KQ with a KQ on the board.  What I didn't realize was there were also 4 Hearts on the board before the flop...and opponent had been calling and re-raising...you can probably guess what happened next. 

 

I should have recongnized the hearts at got out of that much sooner.

 

 Played in the Reefer free roll last night.  Lasted all the way to 21st!  I don't recall ever going 2 and a half hours in a game online.  Nearly lost my entire stack and was able to build it back up.  I had pocket 8's with a pair of Q's on the board...other player had pocket 7's...and a 7 hit on the river!  That was it for my night.

Some questions I'll have for the next edition of Poker Talk Beyond The Books:

Under what situations should I make a raise preflop?

I need to learn more about being in early, mid and late position and how I should make decisions accordingly.

Ok... here it goes!  I'll be writing entries here as I continue to learn as I play mainly online poker.  For those of you who are new to Rounders Radio...I'm the poker newbie. 

 My main focus now is not to worry about the hand I have as much as watch the other players making checks, raises etc. to get a feel for what they may be holding.  I have to say I feel I've picked up on it rather quickly.  By doing this I quickly realized how to stay out of situations that can really cause chips to be lost...I've learned to fold more :)

 I've gotten sucked out a few times on the river already...nice learning experience there, eh?  Found myself getting demoralized over a hand I really played well, but just didn't go my way.  In fact I heard Bernard Lee talking about not getting demoralized over a losing situation and it helped me realize how not to let it happen again!  Just keep going.

Several times I've had my stack become very low and I've changed my play (not sure how to explain how) and have been able to build it back up agian.  I think the demoralization factor I had is going away! :)

 

I was playing poker...with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

 I'm starting this experiment with a great win today.  If you have seen this somewhere else, don't be surprise.  I have and will post this one everywhere I can.   Needless to say this one is the jewel of my crown, IF you will....

April 19, 2009 - After a game of OFC buy-in $5+.50.....

Whoooooo Hoooooooooo !!! Yabadabadooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!

This is how this came to be....

Finished 69th in the OFC at Cake today, only 9 short of the moulah. Was pretty upset about it (made some pretty big mistake). Anyways went into the lobby and saw there was a qualifier going on for the $20K Gtd. So thought to myself, well... $5+.50 with a bunch of tickets given entry. Whyyy not!

Whoooo Hoooo!! Made 2nd place and qualified for the game half an hour later. Took a shower and got myself mentally ready and the time came.

Sat down with my cola and started playing while the hubby was making supper (he didn't mind since I was trying to get us some $$$).

Came down to H/U with this guy which kept going in pretty strong each hand. Almost got him too. Figured I had a pretty good chance since I had a lunatic at final table who was re-raising with crap ( and I mean CRAP) all of the bloody time, and got her out!!

Anyways, didn't finish first but was one hell of a good battle....

I will set them up at for now. But I hope to set up a couple at or another Merge network site soon. It will probably be after the WSOP, in July. I need to get with my peeps during this and see if they will hook it up for me.

My god after 2 weeks with IE8 and all the bugs tht keep me from staying logged in and aggrivated I am finally able to blog after Ace's help and setting the capatability mode for the site..(rolls eyes) I hate IE8, worthless pos..

Anywho, here goes the blog and many more to come now..

After playing poker now for randomly 8 yrs and more dedicated the last 2 -3 Ive learned alot from all the people online. I have never yet come to understand the reasoning behind being a donk.  Im your normal tight and agressive player. Seldom do I call on anything that isnt high paired and suited connectors.

I have saw over the past few days people who go in on low off suit cards and happen to hit the river everytime and win..Now this happens to piss me off because in a real game I dont forsee anyone choosing to take that kinda of a gamble with their money.

Most of this was on the new site I downloaded...Minted Poker

What Id like to know is whats everyone elses experiences on this site. Seems to be a run off of the Barn Yard Poker client or whatever its client is..

Lemme know what you all think...

Have a manic monday peeps , its raining here on and off and the sandman keeps droppin sand in my eyes.

I also had an image to add to the blog by damn it isnt working with my pc just to add the url..Can we get a different uploader maybe a java perhaps for us lazy folks???? LOL

 

So I played a $5 SNG 45 seater at PS yesterday.  I was chip leader pretty much throughout the entire game.

 So it's down to the final 2 tables and I have about 11k in chips.  Second in chips isn't too far behind me.  I get 77 and put in a decent sized raise and get one caller, which is the guy who is in second.

 The flop comes rainbow 7 9 8.  Damn, that 7 was nice but the other cards were nasty!

I put in a big bet and the guy calls.  Turn, an 8 so now I have a boat...yay! I put in another bet and the guy repushes, I call.  The river a 10.  Of course I wasn't scared cause I already had the boat.  Not sure what the dude was scared of, but we end up both checking the river.  He turns over 8 10, damn he made a higher boat on the river!

I went from 11k to a little over a hundred chips with still 2 full tables left.

 Anywho, I was able to stay alive and ended up taking first!
