EDIT: I just caught your most recent show addressing this topic. It was very insightful and jived with my own opinions of rush poker. I think I will stick to other areas of poker where I can better utilize my skill set to create a large gap between my knowledge and skill and the others at the table.
Hey Tony.
I was wondering what type of Strategy you would suggest for playing Full Tilt's new poker deviation Rush poker.
I ave been doing a lot of positional stealing and folding hands looking for top 10 hands. It is basically break even for me right now. Do you have any suggestions or observations of the game style that might help me take advantage of the game?
Thanks,
Netsquash
tony, if you get the chance, i'd like to hear what your thoughts are now that Pokertracker supports rush poker.
still no table selection, but i'm sure the ability to break 1k H/Hr 4 tabling, and it being fairly easy to 4 table without timing out, it should make up for it.
mulletkid, I addressed your latest question regarding Rush Poker on the 2/5/2010 podcast. However, regarding not timing out, I'll note that I don't time out when I'm megatabling. On other words, timing out isn't an issue I'd consider.

Honestly I feel Rush poker appeals to players who are impatient, and want to see a lot of hands quickly.
IMHO I feel the most money is made by sitting extremely tight. After playing a few sessions of this it seems like the raising range out of position is extremely isolated. So playing hands after a raise out of position should be isolated to the top of you're range. Player bearing, re-raising preflop is an excellent tactic due to the fact that people are willing to give up mediocre hands a little easier since they can see new cards almost instantaneously. Though poker tracker does provide some information, in order to get any real data set you would have to play these games as a regular to get any real benefit.
I actually feel this structure benefits the players who do not use PT3 or HEM. Most importantly the players who play a tight preflop range. I have made some cash from these games, and do feel there is some benefit not only in hands per hour, but also in FPP rake amounts.
If you are someone who cannot afford to play a ton of hours per week, do not have a tracker, and have a solid preflop raising/calling range these games should show some benefit for you. I have doubled in 4 out of 5 sessions on this variation of speed poker, but I don't think I will be playing these seriously.
