TOPIC: 2 Hands That I`d Like To Hear Comments On

2 Hands That I`d Like To Hear Comments On 5 years, 10 months ago #731

The first is from a Bodog turbo tourney.

11 players left, it pays 9 places, I have around 4k in chips and am pretty short-stacked, blinds are approx 300/600.

I`m dealt Ac Jc in the cut-off and it`s folded round to me. I raise to 1800

(I know you`re probably going to ask why I didn`t just push all-in but I was actually hoping for a caller, taking a single set of blinds and antes wasn`t going to keep me alive long)

Everyone folds except the BB who raises enough to put me all-in. I considered folding but decided this was the point of no return and called.

BB has JJ, flop comes all clubs and I double up.

He then comments in chat as to how I can make that call with AJ, opinions?

Second hand takes place at the final table of the 1k freeroll on Carbon. 10 players left and I`m one of several stacks around the 30k mark. I`m in the SB, with 34k in chips and I`m dealt Qd 10s

Blinds are 2k/4k, UTG limps in (he has about 32k in chips), everyone folds round to me and I flat call. BB (50k in chips) checks.

Flop is As Qs 4s

I check (I`m nervous about the UTG limp, so many players limp with aces from here)

BB makes a pot sized raise and UTG pushes all-in, I fold and BB calls.

Turn Qh

River 4c

I can`t remember exactly what cards both players had but I know 1 had Ks x, the other had Js x and neither had an ace.

Just curious, would you have pushed (pre-flop or on the flop) or called after the other 2 players have bet?

Cool posts, interesting hands. For my money you played good. Only thing I'd have dont different knowing me is play out that 2nd hand. Freeroll players are notoriously loose so I wouldn't have put that player with those nice K's on best hand. I would have been wrong but luck would have prevailed

Thanks , I`ve edited the post slightly, the other players had :Ks: x and :Js: x.
also, yes it was a freeroll but it was one that you have to earn comp points to enter and as it was the final table most of the donks had been eliminated.

It was a good fold BUT a bad result. Hard to keep with that flop and the betting pattern. and I personally don't like to keep Q-10 after that. But that may be just me.

The first hand he was upset his jacks were beat by runner runner runner and I can see his frustration however with you betting almost half your chips and being short stacked he should have realized you were pot committed and depending on what you had it was now a race and he lost, frustrating but it happens and he vented as many would and now its time to move on. I might have soothed his ego and posted, pot committed and I got very lucky.
