  • Tony,

I am wondering about HU advice please. My last 4 HU endeavors have ended up with me on the wrong side of the game! I would like to blame it on variance, but being 0 for 4 I think I may need to make some adjustments. With that said...

    1) Could you direct me to any of your past shows that may have discussed HU play.

    2) Are there any other resources you would recommend (your books, other books or online).

    3) Several were coin flip situations that I lost from both sides (AK vs. pair) and once I ran 10's into Q's...so not much I could do about that one. Is getting it all-in for a coin flip with high blinds and relatively short-stacks a common situation? Or, is this indicative of some "leak" in HU play?

Thanks for a great year of shows, congrats again on the recent marriage and we'll be looking forward to a Killer EV year 2011!

  • My question is about a hand history from my last gasp in a live tourney.

After losing a coin flip holding AQs when I had 25bb, I was down to just over 13bb. Two hands later, the blind level changed to 500/1000 and I was in the Big Blind with just 6.6bb total.

UTG+1 raises first in with a bet of 3000 and has only 2700 chips behind. The rest fold to the button who shoves all-in with his monster stack of 35,200.

I take a first look at my cards to see A-10 suited.

Should I be taking to opportunity to nearly triple up with this hand or should I be getting out of the way of these two raisers?

I'm guessing you'd say to call rather than fold since my stack is so short and I've got 1000 in already as my blind. A dwindling stack may not pick up a starting hand this good in the time it has left.

Is A-10 suited a calling hand in this situation?

    Cheers!

  • kringle, as only an online poker player can say, "tyty!" Regarding Risk, maybe we'll have to have a Rounder's Radio Risk tournament :)

  • Tony it is always something I look forward to when I sit down to listen to your show. And the your podcasts make productive the up to two hours I commute every day ( 45 minutes to 1 hour each way). So I really have to say a mighty KRINGLE thank you for all that you do for us newer poker players.

Too bad RISK isn't a good two person games or I might just challenge you heads up on that! Thanks again for all the poker education.

Feel free to communicate with me here regarding Killer Poker Analysis (questions about previous podcasts, topics you'd like to hear about on future podcasts, etc.). I'll expect to pay a visit here around once per week (on Fridays). I'm libertarian, but I ask that you guys keep it somewhat civil in here Sunday through Thursday :)
Nice stuff! I would assert that hip-hop and rap were an extremely significant contribution. Though the genre has been bastardized and has been used to convey more negative messages than positive messages, some great stuff has been made. One of the awesome things about sending "The Breaks" to people who tell me bad beat stories is that they either enjoy reliving a hip-hop classic or that the genre simply isn't their cup of tea - in which case they're annoyed like you were by 1:50. Either way, sending "The Breaks" to bad beat story tellers is an action for which I realize no negative payouts :)
